In the Self-Care unit, students learn to take care of their physical, mental, and emotional health. The unit begins by teaching self-care of the body where students learn about exercise, healthy eating, and good hygiene. Next, we teach self-care of the mind and students learn about positive self-talk, deep breathing, and other ways of improving emotional health. The unit ends with a personalized review and each student leaves with a better sense of the self-care habits that work for them.
