This unit gives students strategies to stay safe and how to help prevent violence against them. We review bullying and define assault and abuse. We inform students about date rape and go over “job descriptions” for trusted adults to ensure that they know appropriate boundaries with the people in their life. Gender, race, and sexual orientation, and disability-based violence is explored and students are reminded how important it is to be a self-advocate.
