I Matter – Pre/Post Assessment
Introduction
Student skills/knowledge related to the unit objectives are assessed at the beginning of each unit using the “Teacher Rating Scale” and “Pre/Post-Assessment.” They are assessed throughout each unit, through “skills checks” in each lesson including activities and exit tickets. Finally, they are assessed using the “Teacher Rating Scale” and “Pre/Post-Assessment” at the end of each unit. Additionally, the student work samples that are generated through each lesson can be compiled as part of a student portfolio of their progress towards meeting the unit objectives.
When administering the pre-assessment, exit tickets, and post-assessment, please indicate the type of form and level of support you provided to each student using the “Accommodations to Assessments Form” provided with the assessments. Each assessment comes in Form A and Form B. Form B includes visual aids to help students answer the questions. Provide students with the accommodations you feel are necessary, including reading the question aloud, scribing the answers for the students, and prompting students verbally.
